Village Courts project holds 10th Project Implementation Committee (PIC) meeting

Activating Village Courts in Bangladesh project organized its 10th Project Implementation Committee (PIC) Meeting on May 27, 2015 Wednesday in the Conference Room of Rural Development and Cooperatives Division at Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka. The meeting was presided over by Md. Sirajul Islam, National Project Director (NPD) of AVCB Project and Additional Secretary, LGD. The agenda of the meeting included approval of AWP 2015 and its progress status, presentation of the project implementation status and gap bridging, updates on Phase II preparation etc. Among other members of the PIC presented in the meeting were representatives from Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Law, Cabinet Division, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division, Local Government Division and the UNDP representatives including AVCB project concerned personnel.

On the meeting Project Coordinator Mr. Sarder M. Asaduzzaman presented the implementation status of 9th PIC major decisions such as using the social media pages particularly face book for the project with regular updating of data and status, the status of contract with E-Zone HRM Ltd. has been extended till the end of the project period, VC forms (1 set 11 forms to each UP) sent in 3,883 UPs etc. He also mentioned the remaining UPs covering Barisal and Rangpur will be sent with VC forms very soon. Project Coordinator in his another slides presented status of brief summary of the Phase II project which was developed by the EU and UNDP joint formulation mission members.

Finally, the meeting was adjourned with a vote of thanks to all by the National Project Director and Additional Secretary Mr. Md. Sirajul Islam.
